Probe over UNP carrots in Parliament

An investigation was ordered into some carrots brought inside Parliament by UNP MP Nalin Bandara Jayamaha.
UPFA MP Janaka Bandara, who chaired Parliament proceedings at the time the carrots were placed on the table in front of the UNP MP, issued instructions to investigate the issue.
The Government raised concerns over the carrots being brought into the House saying it could be a security threat.
The Parliament Chair then issued instructions to Parliament security to see if carrots can be brought into Parliament.
UNP MP Nalin Bandara began holding up the carrots saying the Government budget for 2015 is like a carrot being presented to the public.
He then kept the carrots on his table and continued to speak despite protests raised over his speech by Government MPs.(Colombo Gazette)
