Police have arrested 605 drivers across the country during the last 72 hours between 6.00 a.m. on Saturday (11) and 6.00 a.m. today (14), for driving under the influence of liquor, according to the Police Media unit.
The arrested persons include 291 motorcyclists, 240 three-wheeler drivers, 24 car drivers, 20 lorry drivers and 8 van drivers. Another 4 private bus drivers and one Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) bus driver have also been arrested on DUI charges.
