Sri Lankan government to establish a special committee for investigating election complaints

Minister of Public Administration, Provincial Councils, Local Government and Democratic Governance Karu Jayasuriya has proposed the establishment of the special committee prior to holding the national election to ensure the confidence of the citizens on the process of free and fair election.
The special committee, comprising experts of legal, administration, election, fiscal and investigation sectors, aims to expeditiously investigate the election complaints.
