General Secretary of the UNP, Minister Kabir Hashim told a news conference today that the next general election will be held according to the promise made by the current government during the Presidential election.
Hashim's comment comes at a time when there's a discussion on postponing the holding of general elections till 2016 after forming a national government.
However, President Maithripala Sirisena during the Presidential election campaign said parliament will be dissolved on April 23rd this year.
