The authorities opened sluice gates of 6 reservoirs including Parakrama Samudraya in Polonnaruwa today due to incessant showers.
Residents in low-lying areas of the Anuradhapura Kumbichchankulam tank have been asked to evacuate as the tank bund is at risk of collapsing.
